Thank you Alexia!

On Friday Alexia and her mum brought us a pineapple and some grapes to try.
We wondered why pineapples are so spikey and guessed what it might look like inside.
We really enjoyed this special treat!

Swimming Lessons

Burnside Star

Pagen was awarded our Burnside Star certificate this week for all her hard work in learning her alphabet sounds and for increasing the number of words that she can write.  She is showing excellence in her learning and we are all so proud of her.

Alphabet Fish

Pagen was super proud of how she has filled in her alphabet fish.  This shows that she knows all the sounds that the alphabet letters make.  Well done Pagen.  Ka Pai.

Sequencing

Every week we practise an old favourite nursery rhyme and learn a new one as part of our morning hui's.  Miss Radford brought along some little piggies and some props of what they were doing in the nursery rhyme.  We had to work out what order they go in.  We said the nursery rhyme to work this out.

Swimming Lessons

We have been having a great time at our daily swimming lessons and have been making lots of progress.  Miss Smits and Miss Browne are super proud of everyone having a try at something new.  Tino Pai Piwakawaka!

Handwriting Star Isabel

We love how beautiful and neat your handwriting is Isabel.  You sit your letters on the line, make them the right way, make them the right size AND challenge yourself to do this everyday.  We can see that your self assessment face for the day before shows that you think you could do it better and then today you have done that!  Well done.

Fitness

We LOVE playing our fitness games.  The first game we are currently playing is with a partner.  We have to turn around with them and when Busy Bee is called, we have to change partners.  If we have an odd number playing the person who does not have a partner, needs to try and find a partner so they are not missing out for two turns in a row.

We are also learning how to grind coffee.  We have to work with a partner and both move under our arms at the same time.  It is a bit tricky to start with but we are persevering and some of us are getting very fast at grinding.

Poppies

Our finished poppies that we made with Trengrove Kindergarten.

Trengrove Kindy visit

We had a visit from 3 of our friends that go to Trengrove Kindergarten.  Khalea, Cyrus and Daniel are all going to be starting school soon and they joined us along with their mums and Trish from Trengrove.  Lots of us enjoyed seeing Trish again and seeing some familiar friends from when they used to go to Trengrove.  We made poppies as part of our investigation about ANZAC day.
