Numeracy Thinking

There are 8 bears in a cave and 4 more come along.  How many bears are there all together?
This numeracy group are learning how to count on to solve their maths problems.  They worked well with a buddy to explain their thinking and to write the equation to match.

Enchanted Garden Visit

Elizabeth, Eseta and Lea went on a trip to The Enchanted Garden Early Childhood Centre.  They were very excited and sang 'Let it Go' all the way there!  Lea and Elizabeth enjoyed spending time back at their Pre School and the staff were excited to see them too.  We joined in at their mat time and were even able to choose the songs to sing.  We told them a little bit about what we do at school.

 Elizabeth with her sister, Charlotte.

Can you spot the bunny rabbit hiding in the bushes....it is a bit tricky!

We jumped over the candle stick to go to morning tea.

Lea showed us that she enjoyed playing with the dress ups at Pre School.
Elizabeth showed us that she enjoyed playing with the blocks at Pre School.

Morning Origami

This morning Reina shared a very special skill.  She can make origami flowers.  This is a special type of paper folding from her country, Japan.  Reina showed us how to make one all before the bell rang for school to start!  Lots of children are now very interested in learning how to make one of these special flowers.  Thanks for sharing your great skills Reina.

Handwriting Star Ahi

Ahi was our handwriting star for trying to make his letters the right way and focusing on his work and getting it finished in time.  Ka pai Ahi!
