Wonderful Writing

Heather wrote a great explanation about pulleys.  She has worked hard on her goal and Maya nominated her as the Super Star Writer.  Congratulations Heather!

Te Waka o Matariki

We worked in groups to sequence some story cards.  We worked in groups to say which picture came first, next and last.  Then we had to make up a story to match the pictures.  We had to look very carefully at the pictures to see what order to put them in.

More Bottle Top Art

We try to add to our creation most days.  There are a lot of screws and bottle tops to be attached!

Bottle top art - simple machines

We are busy using all the lids that we collected to make some art works to decorate our school.  We've been learning about simple machines and have been using a screw driver to attach the lids to the wood.  It took a lot of effort and time so now we are using a drill.  It is a lot of fun and makes it much faster to put the screws through the plastic and into the wood.
Can you guess what we are making with the lids?

Maori Language Week

This week we are learning parts of our body in Maori.  We are trying to learn how to respond with 'He ____ tena' when someone asks 'He aho tenei? What is this?'.

Discovery Time Stars

We had 3 Discovery Time Stars this week who showed respect to others and our equipment.  Congratulations Alex, Budhaditya and Reina!
