Today the Yellow room had their second sculpture lesson with Miss Smits we are learning how to add texture to our Gruffalo using our fingers, toothpicks and popsicle sticks. We were so focused on our learning that we didn't want to stop for lunch!

Mathematics Activities
These were our Can Do activities for Mathematics. We enjoy working on our strand maths activities each day with our buddies. These help us to remember important skills that we have learnt, including our shapes, patterns, length language, and to work on developing our fine motor skills.

Discovery Time
It was awesome to see some of our Investigations learning happening during Discovery Time as well. Riley and Isabel had a great time experimenting with different ramps and equipment to make pathways for the marble to travel.

Brainstorming
Our Piwakawaka writing group has been learning about different ways that we can plan for our writing.
We learnt that we can make a brainstorm and write our ideas instead of drawing a picture.
We had fun sharing our ideas with each other and can't wait to practice this in our writing next week!

Swimming
We had a fantastic last week at swimming. We got to wear life jackets and swim in the deep pool. We also got to have a turn in a boat.
We enjoyed learning about how to stay safe in the water. We learned that you can test how fast a river is moving by throwing leaves in the water and watching how fast they move.
Miss Browne and Miss Smits are very proud of you all for the confidence and excellence you showed when getting into the water!
