Maths learning

We have been using abacus to help us with our numeracy learning.  These help us to learn the patterns that the numbers make.  We also make these on our fingers and on tens frames.  We can use the different ways to check our accuracy.

Maths Must Do and Can Do activities

We have been practising how to work with our buddies, stay at our activities and to focus on what we are doing during our must do/can do time.  Here are some photos of people that know exactly what to do and can work well with their partner.  What great role models you are, especially when you use your words and talk to your partner about your activity or where you are going to next.

Reina's Japanese Dance

Cultural Week Performances

We were very lucky to have special performances as part of Cultural Week and one of our Piwakawaka students was a wee star!  Reina and her mum and sister were part of the Japanese group who performed a special dance for us.  We really enjoyed joining in with them and learning a little bit about the Japanese culture.

Go Reina!  We were so proud of you!
We also had a South Korea Drumming Group who did an amazing performance.  We enjoyed watching how they worked together to make amazing sounds.
