We had a great time stretching, bending and dancing with Gabby.  Thanks for coming to our team to do some dancing with us!

Gardening Discovery

We are working hard to remove the weeds in the butterfly garden.  We use our time during Discovery Time to help the butterflies.  We learnt lots about working together, persevering, using our manners, and sharing the tools.  A great start was made on the weed issue.  You should have seen the size of some of the roots we were trying to pull out!  It was a little bit like the Enormous Turnip story when we all tried to work together to pull it out.  

Heather and Tom were our Discovery Time Stars this week for showing creativity in their activities.

Fitness

We LOVE playing our fitness games.  The first game we are currently playing is with a partner.  We have to turn around with them and when Busy Bee is called, we have to change partners.  If we have an odd number playing the person who does not have a partner, needs to try and find a partner so they are not missing out for two turns in a row.

 We are also learning how to grind coffee.  We have to work with a partner and both move under our arms at the same time.  It is a bit tricky to start with but we are persevering and some of us are getting very fast at grinding.

Buddy Numbers

This numeracy group are working hard to identify all the buddy numbers that add up to 10.  They had a challenge to figure out the 11 different combinations.  How many can you work out?  

Some of us used materials, some of us could do some of the equations in our head but we all tried to write down our learning.  We found it a bit tricky!

Shaniya worked them all out using materials and a blank number line.  Well done Shaniya!
